Our DevOps Engineers play a critical role in Kablamo’s cross functional Agile product development teams. They are responsible for designing and building best-practice, secure and automated cloud environments, which are capable of scaling to handle millions of users and almost limitless amounts of data. Kablamo is proud to be one of AWS’s leading partners in Australia, and our DevOps Engineers are all incredibly passionate about the AWS cloud and its ecosystem.

As part of our DevOps team, you will join a very strong technical community of engineers, all with deep experience working across different industries and use cases. Additionally, Kablamo’s Cloud Principal is a globally recognized AWS Community Hero.

We are seeking senior-level DevOps Engineers with at least 5 years’ experience. The role is remote first with the Kablamo Canada office based in Toronto.

Required skills and experience:

  • Extensive cloud experience in AWS (VPC, EC2, Route53, IAM, STS, RDS, API, Gateway, Lambda)
  • Solid coding/scripting skills in at least 1 major language (eg. Javascript, Ruby, Java, Python, Golang)
  • Strong experience with infrastructure as code tools (AWS CloudFormation preferred)
  • Solid experiencing in building and maintaining Docker images
  • Understanding of CI/CD tools such as AWS CodePipeline, TeamCity, Bamboo, GoCD, or Concourse CI
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, networking and routing protocols
  • Experience in implementing CDN/DDoS/WAF technologies
  • Strong understanding and experience with Identity & Access Management solutions
  • Understanding of Web and API development

The person we are seeking will:

  • Be passionate about cloud and its potential to enable amazing digital products, to solve complex problems and to liberate huge data sets
  • Be on a life-long journey of learning, always curious to build their knowledge and to share what they know with their peers
  • Manage the successful outcomes of all deliverables within the resource and time constraints as defined by the DevOps Manager and Delivery lead
  • Participate in project stand-ups by effectively communicating status and impediments to progress
  • Attend iteration planning sessions and participate in the sizing of the testing effort required to complete stories, ensuring external dependencies are considered
  • Work closely and communicate effectively with the development team and product stakeholders to ensure project outcomes adhere to agreed quality standards

Desirable skills and experience:

  • AWS Associate and/or Professional Level Certifications
  • Experience working in Agile software and product development teams
  • Experience with AWS’s Machine Learning/AI suite, including SageMaker, Rekognition, Transcribe etc
  • Strong skill sets in Web and API development and architectures (Event Driven, SOA, Microservices)
  • Experience with Akamai, Cloudflare, or AWS CloudFront & WAF
  • Experience with Docker clustering and management
  • Cloud migration and delivery exposure

Salary: $140,000.00-$180,000.00 per year
